The
COPCORD Programme comprises three stages |
|
Phase
1 - The initial stage consisted of administration
of a simple questionnaire by primary health
workers (PIIW) to a whole community as a basic
screening technique. |
|
Phase
2 - The positive responders to Phase 1
were assessed by the community nurse with
a more elaborate questionnaire. ( In some
COPCORD surveys Phase 1 & 2 were obtained
) |
|
Phase
3 - Those subjects with definite complaints
were examined by a medical doctor with the
rheumatological training. At this stage a
diagnosis if clear was made on clinical ground
and advice on prevention and possible health-care
intervention suggested. |
